U want to turn or you want to slide…   Leave a comment

So what do you think is this bold note on the blog referring to.

In today’s world technology is actively involved in recreating or creating new ideas. Makes the comic book flicks to be a reality. For those who were born yesterday may lose a great deal of those intimate moments, which the technology so advanced would fail to deliver until and unless they are able to control how we think or how we react. I ain’t anti technology…I myself freak out when it comes to gadgets and read a lot about their functionality and would also love to own a few of them. The ideas that have evolved over a period of time and i love technology. But I was blessed and may of you are also.

What I’m referring through the topic is all about the essence of books.

“U want to turn the pages or you want to slide to the next page”

It won’t be that surprising when we find the new generation, trying out these gadgets for reading books and the libraries would stock these books in the shelfs as a remembrance.

I am not sure how many of you would agree that the it will be the same nostalgic feeling when it comes to reading either ways. Carrying a book or a gadget. But the fact remains reading will be the best thing that will ever be replaced by any other activity.

As said by Edward Morgan, “A book is the only place in which you can examine a fragile thought without breaking it, or explore an explosive idea without fear it will go off in your face. It is one of the few havens remaining where a man’s mind can get both provocation and privacy. “

Books are revolutionary and they not only provide a thought proving instinct but also it helps you look through the world from those small window ornate with words. A book capable of inducing thoughts, provoking emotions, build ideas or turns you into a rebel.

If we all remember the movie “THE HURRICANE”, where an alienated american youth living in Canada, found direction and purpose after reading Ruben Carter’s book “The Sixteenth Round”.

Even historian say that President George Washington read more than 1000 books in his life time and the same is still a part of the history in his own library where he always started his day and believed to be never caught by sun while he is still in his bed.

Book are more than words and ideas they are capable to bring the best out of anyone.

“The worth of a book is to be measured by what you can carry away from it. ” (James Bryce)

So keep reading!!!
